State Route 487 (SR 487) follows Baker Road, an east–west state highway in White Pine County, Nevada. The State Route designation is applied to the portion of Baker Road from Cattleguard at UT/NV State line to US 6. This route is designated as a Nevada Scenic Byway.[2]
Route description
SR 487's northwestern terminus is at an intersection with the concurrent routes of U.S. Route 50 and US 6. The road heads southeast through a desert terrain before entering Baker, near which there are pockets of farmland. In Baker, the route intersects Lehman Caves Road which has a designation as State Route 488. From Baker, SR 487 turns southward before turning back southeast into desert. The designation ends at the Utah state line; the road continues as Utah State Route 21 towards Milford and Beaver.[3]
